They are also constantly changing with the introduction of new European and Indian standards. Flameproof Induction Motors: (Ex 'd' for ZONE-I, II - Gas Group IIA, IIB)
The essential principle of electrical apparatus with flame proof enclosure is that the hazardous atmosphere is not excluded from entry into the enclosure. It is recognized that an explosion is likely to occur within the apparatus but the construction of the enclosure should be such that it shall withstand the internal explosion without any evidence of distress and shall prevent the communication of the internal ignition to the surrounding atmosphere (the term flame proof as used here is synonymous with the term "explosion proof" as used in the USA or "Explosion Proof type 'd' protection" used in Germany and other continental countries)
Construction: Stator frame has a barrel type construction made from thick fabricated steel to withstand internal pressure. Stringent checks like pressure tests are in place to ensure to high degree of welding quality. Adequate care is taken during machining to ensure a perfect concentricity of stator bore leading to minimum vibration level and optimum heat transfer. For higher frame sizes, i.e. 630 & 710 the frame is of TETV construction. The tubes are double expanded in thick end plates to provide protection against leakage in case of explosion.

N-Series motors are the trademarked series of CG Industrial System. The motors are offered in air cooled and water cooled construction. These motors are designed keeping in mind the stringent noise, vibration regulations and efficiency requirements of the customer with the help of the latest design analysis & software.
The components are designed using finite elements of analysis, structural, thermal and air flow. This ensures better stress distribution and high structural rigidity to achieve higher power to weight ratio.
These motors have been designed to meet varying application demands while maintaining high levels of quality and performance. The N-series range meets the requirements of various industrial sectors such as oil & gas, cement, sugar and power plants.
CG offers CACA Motors, which include TP and FT Series High Voltage Induction Motors. The TP range of induction motors includes both Squirrel Cage (TPC) and Slip Ring (TPR) motors. These motors have totally enclosed construction. The TPC range consists of foot mounted (IMB3) machines, which complies with both IS: 2253 and IEC: 60034-7. The totally enclosed IP55 protection as per IS 4691 / IEC: 60034-5 and cooling with air to air heat exchangers comply with IEC 60034-6.
The VTPC range is a variant of the TPC range with flange mounted construction IMV1 complying to IEC 60034 – 7. BTPC range has blowers separately mounted on heat exchanger for the most stringent variable speed application and for higher output designs. The TP range of motors has been designed to meet diversified application demands while maintaining excellent performance and highest quality. The robust design helps function with variable voltage, variable frequency drives.
The FT range of induction motor includes FTC/FTCV type Squirrel Cage and FTA/FTAV type Slip Ring Motors., - FTC/FTA types are horizontal and foot mounted (IM B3, IEC60034-7) machines, whereas FTCV/FTAV types are vertical, flange mounted (IM V1, IEC 60034-7). These motors are totally enclosed (IP 54, IEC 60034-5), self-cooled with an air-to-air heat exchanger (IC 6A1A1/IC 6A1A6) as per IEC 60034-6.
The range of air-cooled motors are also available with an external blower; wherein the cooling is independent of the speed of the motor, which is preferred for variable speed applications.

CG offers SPDP Motors which include UD and FH Series High Voltage Induction Motors.
The Screen Protected Drip Proof (SPDP) are high quality motors in Squirrel Cage and slip ring types. These motors are suitable for all types of industrial drives, mills and pumps. In SPDP motors, the external air is sucked inside through a wire mesh screen by means of a shaft mounted fan. The air suctioned through the louvers traverse along the length of the motor and is expelled at the opposite end through a wire mesh screen.
UD series motors are manufactured in UDR, UDC and VUDC series. All these are continuously rated for S1 duty as per IS: 325 / IEC 60034-7 standards. These motors are suitable for 50 Hz, 3-phase supply. These motors are offered with IP 23 degree of protection. Thus adequate protection is provided against dripping liquids and falling objects as specified in IS: 4691 / IEC 34-5. The mounting dimensions are as per IS: 1231 / IEC-60072 standards.
FHC/FHA types are horizontal and foot mounted (IM B3, IEC34-7) machines, whereas FHCV/FHAV types are vertical and flange mounted (IM V1, IEC 34-7). These machines are totally enclosed with IP 23 type of protection complying with IEC 60034-5 standards.
CG offers CACW Motors which include UW and FR Series High Voltage Induction Motors.
The UW range of induction motors includes both the Squirrel Cage (i.e. UWC) and the Slip Ring (i.e. UWR) type motors. These motors have totally enclosed construction. The UWC range consist of foot mounted (IMB3) machines which conforms to IS: 2253 / IEC: 60034-7. These motors are totally enclosed with IP55 protection as per IS: 4691 / IEC: 60034-5 and self cooled with air to water IC: 8AIW7- IEC: 60034-6 heat exchangers. The VUWC range is a variant of the UWC range with IMV1 flange mounted construction complying with IEC 60034-5.
The UWR range of induction motors is the Slip Ring motor design. The UW range of motors has been designed to meet diversified application demands, while maintaining excellent performance and highest quality.
The FR range of induction motor includes the FRC/FRCV type Squirrel Cage motor and the FRA/FRAV type Slip Ring motors. The FRC/FRA type is horizontal and foot mounted (IM B3, IEC60034-7) machines, whereas FRCV/FRAV type is vertical and flange mounted (IM V1, IEC 60034-7).These motors are totally enclosed (IP 54, IEC 60034-5), self cooled with air-to-water heat exchanger (IC 81 W7, IEC 34-6).
For the raw and cement ball-mill twin drives Slip Ring or other wound type rotor motors are used all over the world. CG Hungary is the first in the world to successfully break this tradition with double Squirrel Cage motors supplied to Duna-Dráva Cement Company at Beremend.
This new solution is significantly cheaper from the investment view compared to the traditional solutions.
On one hand the double-cage motor is substantially cheaper than the Slip Ring motor, On the other hand the costly starting equipment and the adherent short-circuiting switch together with the controller are not required. The usage of our solution due to the low operational and maintenance costs further increase the adaptability of this new equipment. Additional Information:
